Manchin Proud to Stand in Support of Miners at Capitol Coal Rally

Senator Manchin stands up for coal and condemns EPA’s unreasonable regulations at American Energy Jobs Rally in Washington

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) rallied with West Virginia coal miners and workers from the mining, manufacturing, labor and construction industries at the American Energy Jobs Rally in Washington to fight for America’s energy sector and our nation’s hardworking coal miners.

“Coal miners are some the bravest and most patriotic men and women I have ever met in my life and it is always an honor to stand side by side with our hardworking miners, especially during today's coal rally at the steps of the United States Capitol. As Governor and now as Senator, I have always fought for and pledge to continue to fight for coal. But we are not just fighting for the good-paying jobs coal provides. We are fighting for our coal heritage and a way of life that sinks deep into the roots of West Virginia's rich culture. For decades, our coal miners have worked hard every day to produce the energy that lights our cities and heats our homes, and I hope that our miners know that as long as there's coal to mine, I will proudly stand by their side.”
