WV Strong: Braskem America employees
Wayne County
Today’s Better Angels are a group of over 40 employees at Braskem America’s production plant in Neal – just south of Kenova - who volunteered to live at the facility itself in order to keep production going and maintain a healthy workforce. This team has been working tirelessly to ensure the continued production of respiratory masks and other PPE during this critical time. Braskem supported the employees’ efforts by providing increased wages and all the onsite necessities for its volunteers including beds, a constant supply of groceries, high-speed internet access and , of course, the option to leave the plant if necessary for health and wellness or family emergencies.
They began living at the plant on March 31 and I’m pleased to say their term is up and they’re safe at home as of today. It’s an honor to thank those 42 volunteers for their weeks of hard work.
