Bridge Coatings Inspector,Summit Design and Engineering Services-Charleston
Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite field inspections of all coating related activities in accordance with contract documents.
- Perform inspections utilizing coating inspection equipment.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and related laws and regulations for lead removal projects.
- Maintain project records and daily field reports.
- Take field measurements of various completed items and make calculations to determine contract pay quantities.
- Read plans and blueprints.
- Candidates will be subject to outside environmental conditions, including hazards at highway construction sites and lead abatement.
Requirements:
- NACE Level I, II, or III required.
- Proficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox and/or OneDrive.
- Ability to work independently, use own judgment and make decisions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to read resource materials to determine answers to simple inspection requirements.
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 14 hours a day on occasion.
- Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights.
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds, on occasion.
- Valid Driver's license with good driving record and ability to drive.
