Credit Analyst,Premier Financial Bancorp-Huntington

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares reports showing credit activities analysis and account status.
  • Analyzes customer credit worthiness, compiles credit data, interprets information, and determines extension of credit.
  • Contacts loan officers to request specific information and discusses and resolves issues pertaining to company’s business, financial status and credit risk.
  • Performs credit underwriting, assess credit risk, and issues recommendations about credit proposals to be reviewed by the Credit Manager.
  • Analyzes borrower’s business method of operation, operating environment, financial condition, operating performance to determine borrower’s repayment ability.
  • Evaluates impact of country and transfer risk on borrower’s ability to repay U.S. dollar obligations.
  • Examines accounting issues and scrutinizes financial statements.
  • Performs financial spreads for preliminary evaluation of credit.
  • Evaluates credit reports, examine credit references for consistency with information provided.
  • Assist Credit Manager with projects.
  • Confers with Credit Manager in order to resolve problems with application or missing information.
  • Performs credit analysis and reviews credit annually.
  • Conducts follow-up of financial situation of borrowers with authorized credit facilities.
  • Assures that financial covenants of each transaction are carried-out as approved.
  • Maintains continuous efforts to supervise problem credit

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree(accounting or finance degree preferred not required) experience in commercial credit and collections; or an equivalent combination of education and experience beneficial.

Experience and Special Skill:

  • Knowledge of various accounting systems and knowledge of accounts receivable.
  • Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence proficiently and professionally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to conduct research projects with minimal supervision/guidance.
  • Able to work on diversified projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure and assist Department when required.
  • Able to work extra hours when required by workload or projects.
