Quality Manager,Mondi-Wellsburg

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards at the Wellsburg facility
  • Propose corrective actions to improve compliance with quality specifications
  • Recommend new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets
  • Guarantee that only the highest quality products are delivered to our customers
  • Manage staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Handle urgent situations in a professional manner
  • Train and educate staff on regulations and best practices
  • Oversee Process Management
  • Responsible for productivity, quality improvement projects, and waste
  • Maintain a proactive approach to anticipated concerns/situations
  • Manage internal and external quality issues
  • Manage customer returns and credits and lead the corrective action process
  • Disposition of all materials (raw, in process, and customer returns) on quality hold
  • Communicate with customers and company management on complaints and project activity
  • Also serve as SQF practitioner and HACCP coordinator
  • Present, train and lead groups as part of the process improvement events
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of information furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Process reports, correspondence, and all other types of position related documents
  • Communicate effectively within the organization, as well as with outside vendors and customers
  • Respond to common inquiries and/or complaints effectively
  • Effectively present information to the department and members of management
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of five years experience in the related area as an individual contributor
  • 1 to 3 years supervisory experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of department processes
  • Previous Continuous Improvement/Lean management experience preferred
  • HACCP and SQF experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office suite experience required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
