Transportation Worker 2,Department Of Transportation-Lewis County

The Position:

Department of Transportation (WVDOT)/ Division of Highways (DOH)/ District 7 Bridge Department, Lewis County - TW2BMW Under general supervision, at the full performance level, performs skilled work in a bridge repair crew including construct concrete forms, pour and vibrate concrete, install and tie rebar, drive dump or flat truck, install piling, and place and nail lumber. Must be able to climb high steel structures. May be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. A valid class A or B commercial license (CDL) will be required within 5 months of appointment/employment. Performs related work as required. 

As a condition of employment, an inquiry into job-related information will be completed which may include, but not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training.  Failing to cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, and/or discovery of disqualifying information may result in denial of or dismissal from employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered.

Training: No formal education required.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid or non-paid experience in automotive body repair, building trades, equipment operation or repair, highway maintenance, or metal work. For bridge maintenance positions six months of full-time or part-time paid experience in bridge or structural steel construction.

Special Requirements: (1) A valid motor vehicle operator's license; (2) a valid class A or B commercial driver's license is required in the area of assignment of the equipment operation, and may be required in bridge maintenance, equipment repair and highway maintenance and bridge maintenance, at the discretion of the appointing authority; (3) some positions in the class may require certification in the assigned areas after appointment; (4) specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on Refrigerant recycling.
