Manchin, Capito announce more than $1.7 million for maternal and child health | Princeton Times
CHARLESTON — This week, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,714,764 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for West Virginia Health and Human Resources for Maternal and Child Health Services.
“The health of our families begins with the health of mothers and children. This funding will support programs that invest in the health of West Virginia mothers and children. When our children are healthy they play harder, grow up stronger and learn better. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue fighting for funding to support the health of West Virginia families,” Senator Manchin said.
“Ensuring access to health care services for infants, children, and expectant mothers is critical for the health of West Virginia families and communities,” Senator Capito said. “This funding will support programs that give mothers and their children the care and services they need for a healthy start. I am thrilled to see this funding come to West Virginia, and I will continue to fight for resources for West Virginia women and children.”
