Manchin helps to get forklift donation for local food bank | WV News
CHARLESTON — Sen Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., helped to secure the donation of a forklift to a local food bank in McDowell County.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia donated the forklift on Friday to Five Loaves & Two Fishes Food Bank in Kimball. Manchin worked with several local officials and businesses in the effort to get a forklift for the food bank, according to a statement released by the senator Friday.
Manchin said that a temporary solution has been in place for the last several weeks — a critical time of the year for the food bank, but is happy that it now has a permanent forklift.
"I know everyone is moved and humbled by this incredible act of community giving by Toyota, and also relieved to see a permanent forklift finally here in Kimball – where the need remains great, and the desire to help and serve remains strong," Manchin said.
