Friday/Saturday: Manchin Wraps Up "Commonsense Solutions" Week With Events in Kingwood, Grafton

Washington, D.C. — United States Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) will wrap up “Commonsense Solutions” Week with “Coffee and Common Sense” events in Kingwood and Grafton on Friday and Saturday.

Senator Manchin launched “Commonsense Solutions” Week Tuesday in South Charleston, kicking off a series of events throughout West Virginia devoted to presenting commonsense solutions that will help solve some of the most pressing challenges facing the state and the country. Senator Manchin has unveiled a series of new policy proposals this week, including solutions to problems such as our nation’s fiscal crisis, high unemployment rates and substance abuse in our communities.

“West Virginians are ready for Washington to start fixing some of the incredible challenges facing this country, and in every community I visited this week, I heard commonsense ideas about how we can tackle problems small and large. West Virginians are enthusiastic about the commonsense solutions I unveiled to take on challenges like our national debt and deficits, high unemployment rates, and substance abuse in our communities.

“The bottom line is, it's time for elected leaders to put politics aside and start thinking about our next generation, instead of the next election. I look forward to sharing the commonsense solutions I heard this week with my colleagues, and I hope that we will start working together to give West Virginians and all Americans the type of leadership they deserve.”
