ICYMI: Manchin Joins Wolf Blitzer To Discuss Biden Executive Order On Border, Weaponization Of Judicial System

Washington, DC – Last night, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) joined Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s The Situation Room to discuss President Biden’s executive order to limit illegal border crossings and the importance of preventing the weaponization of the American judicial system.

On President Biden’s executive order to limit illegal border crossings:

“The border is the most serious crisis that we face right now. We have people coming into our country who haven’t been vetted and this is something that had to be done. It should have been done sooner, but I support the President’s decision,” Senator Manchin said in part. “The order stops all illegal entries in between ports of entry and no more parole at the border. So, we’re stopping a lot of things that need to end but much more needs to be done.”

On the weaponization of the judicial system:

“My main concern is the rule of law. Only in America, only with the rule of law do you have a way through the process of our judicial system to correct a wrong that might have been done,” Senator Manchin said in part. “I’m thankful for the rule of law we have and I want to make sure we protect the judicial system and not allow it to be weaponized. Both sides maybe want to weaponize this. It can’t be done. I believe [Attorney General] Merrick Garland is trying his absolute best to be impartial.”
