ICYMI: Manchin Stresses Importance of Appalachian Storage Hub to DOE Nominees

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) stressed the importance of cooperation from the Department of Energy with the proposed Mid-Atlantic Energy Hub when questioning Ms. Melissa F. Burnison to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs) and Ms. Anne Marie White to an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Environmental Management) during their joint confirmation hearing before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

“In my state we produce an awful lot of fossil energy, which is coal and natural gas,” Senator Manchin said. “The storage hub is extremely important. Not just for my state but for Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. But also for the security of energy in the United States. This would be an Appalachian energy hub that protects and provides the energy our country needs.”
