Icymi: Manchin Visits Huntington’s Facing Hunger Food Bank, Jim’s Steak And Spaghetti, Marshall Football Game

Charleston, WV – Last week, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) toured the Facing Hunger Food Bank in Huntington. Following that, Senator Manchin visited and met with patrons at Jim’s Steak and Spaghetti and attended the Marshall vs. Georgia State football game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

“It’s always a pleasure to be back in Huntington and see the important work being done in Southern West Virginia,” said Senator Manchin. “The Facing Hunger Food Bank is making a difference in so many people’s lives and ensures no West Virginian is without food on their table. It was a privilege to meet with their CEO, Cyndi Kirkhart, and so many food bank members and volunteers who work day and night to support our community.

“West Virginians, to our core, are dedicated and hardworking, and the team at Jim’s Steak and Spaghetti are proof of that,” Senator Manchin continued. “Along with the Herd, this restaurant has been a staple in Huntington for as long as I can remember. The Tweel family has done such a wonderful job with this iconic spot, and I know that Jim’s is in good hands with the new owner, Vicki Dunn-Marshall.

“It was great to end the day in Huntington with a big win for Marshall University football under the lights. Go Herd!” Senator Manchin said.
