Charleston, WV – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) provided an update on the number of West Virginians who have received the COVID-19 vaccine and the American Rescue Plan’s impact on vaccination distribution and administration throughout the state. 31% of West Virginians are fully vaccinated and 36% of have received at least one dose.
“West Virginia has led by example and set the pace for the rest of the country in safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine distribution and administration. As of today, 31% of West Virginians are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 36% of West Virginians have received at least one dose. This is great news for our state and I am so proud of the continued efforts across the state to provide a COVID-19 vaccine to every West Virginian who wants one. Funding from the American Rescue Plan has greatly helped our state expand its efforts to provide COVID-19 vaccinations, especially by distributing funds directly to local healthcare providers who can promote and distribute the COVID-19 vaccine within their own communities. I will continue to support health centers and healthcare providers as they work to administer and distribute COVID-19 vaccines to West Virginians.”
