Manchin and Capito Announce $1.4 Million for Yeager Airport Security
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,400,000 through the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program. Funding will go toward security enhancements at Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia.
“Yeager Airport is essential to the success of our businesses, our economy and quality of life of West Virginians,” Senator Manchin said. “One of my top priorities is to make sure that Yeager Airport has the most up-to-date infrastructure so that they can continue to make necessary enhancements to maintain the safety and security of all of those who use it every year. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to ensure that Yeager and all West Virginia airports get the funding they need.”
“Thousands of West Virginians depend on Yeager Airport and other airport facilities every year,” Senator Capito said. “It is important that we continue to support improvements that increase safety for passengers and personnel while strengthening critical infrastructure. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for further resources for our state’s airports.”
