Manchin and Capito Announce More Than $1 Million for Hardy County Health Center

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced $1,096,606 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the E.A. Hawse Health Center in Hardy County. The funding will be used to continue expanding operations to better serve underinsured and uninsured West Virginians living in the rural Potomac Highlands region. A portion of the funding will also be used for outreach efforts and federal healthcare enrollment services.

“All West Virginians deserve access to quality, affordable health care,” Senator Manchin said. “This funding will help strengthen and expand treatment services that provide our children, families and seniors with the preventative and primary care necessary to stay healthy and well.”

“West Virginia’s community health centers play such an important role in keeping our communities healthy – especially in rural areas of the state. This funding for the E.A. Hawse Health Center will enable more Hardy County residents to receive access to quality care and needed healthcare services,” said Senator Capito.
