Manchin and Capito Announce More than $170K For Rural Healthcare Services

Washington, D.C. – U.S Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced $172,000 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services State Office of Rural Health. This funding will be used primarily for workforce development and provider placement, improving access to healthcare in rural communities throughout West Virginia.

“It is incredibly important that all West Virginians, including those living in rural communities, have access to quality preventative and primary healthcare,” Senator Manchin said. “This funding will ensure critical healthcare facilities in rural West Virginia have the funding they need to provide accessible and affordable healthcare services that West Virginians deserve.”

“In order to ensure the availability of quality health care services in small, hard-to-reach communities, we must utilize all available resources. This funding will assist the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services with connecting patients and providers in our most rural areas, and will help West Virginians in all corners of the state get the care they need,” said Senator Capito. ‎
