Manchin and Capito Announce More Than $800,000 in Funding For WV Airports
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $846,829 in funding for airport enhancements in Marion, Wayne, and Braxton Counties. The grant is allocated for infrastructure repairs and improvements.
“Quality airports improve West Virginia’s economy and connect West Virginian communities to goods and services,” Senator Manchin said. “I am pleased that West Virginians are going to benefit from this grant, and as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee I will continue to secure funding for airport infrastructure in the future.”
“Access to air travel is so important to West Virginia families, as well as our economy,” Senator Capito said. “This funding will support infrastructure improvements and help purchase necessary equipment for three airports in Braxton, Cabell, and Marion counties. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight for resources that preserve and expand transportation options for West Virginians.”

- $110,000 -- Fairmont-Marion County Regional Airport Authority
- $61,829 -- Braxton County Airport Authority
- $675,000 -- Tri State Airport Authority
