Manchin Announces $1.1 Million To Secure New Equipment For West Virginia University’s Electron Microscopy Facility
Charleston, WV– Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,140,000 from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for West Virginia University’s (WVU) Electron Microscopy Facility. This funding will support WVU’s acquisition of new cutting-edge equipment for its Electron Microscopy Facility in Morgantown, West Virginia. This new equipment will enhance WVU’s capabilities to conduct ground-breaking scientific research and support training.
“West Virginia University continues to make our state proud with important and cutting-edge scientific research,” said Senator Manchin. “This $1.1 million investment will not only allow researchers to conduct ground-breaking studies with state-of-the-art tools, it will improve the quality of the training for our next-generation workforce.
