Manchin Announces $1.6 Million From American Rescue Plan To Strengthen Three West Virginia Healthcare Providers
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), member of
the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,652,400 from the American
Rescue Plan (ARP) for two West Virginia hospitals and one health center to
support COVID-19 testing, vaccinations and treatment and staffing to ensure
these healthcare providers can continue providing quality healthcare services.
This funding is distributed through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
as part of its Community Facilities Emergency Rural Healthcare Program.
“The American Rescue Plan continues to deliver critical
relief for West Virginia through investments in our healthcare workforce and
infrastructure, and I am pleased with these investments in Webster, Mingo and
Lewis counties. This funding will support personnel and technology upgrades to
advance healthcare infrastructure and will support our healthcare professionals
as they continue to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. As a member of the Senate
Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for resources to ensure
every West Virginian can access the quality care they need and deserve,” said
Senator Manchin.
Individual awards listed below:
- $1,000,000 – Williamson Health and Wellness Center
- $588,200 – Webster County Memorial Hospital
- $64,200 – Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital
