Manchin Announces $1.9 Million For Cancer Prevention, Support Programs In West Virginia
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $1,956,745 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR). This funding will bolster statewide efforts to prevent and manage cancer, as well as support cancer survivors.
“With 1 in 3 Americans expected to get cancer at some point in their life, we must prioritize prevention efforts and helping those battling this horrible disease,” said Senator Manchin. “I’m pleased HHS is investing more than $1.9 million to support critical cancer prevention, management and treatment programs statewide. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding to ensure every West Virginian across the Mountain State has access to quality health services.”
