Manchin Announces $375,000 Grant for West Virginia University Research
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Eye Institute has awarded West Virginia University (WVU) $375,000 for vision research relating to mechanisms behind retinal photoreceptor cells outer segment biogenesis.
“I am glad that West Virginia University has been recognized for the important research they are conducting at WVU Eye Institute. Their scientific findings will lead to a better understanding of our eyes and future developments within the field. I am proud of the top-notch research WVU is conducting to move our state and nation’s eye health forward,” Senator Manchin said.
