Manchin Announces $6 Million From the American Rescue Plan for Twelve West Virginia Rural Healthcare Providers
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), member of
the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $6,012,801 from the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services
Administration (HRSA) for twelve West Virginia rural healthcare providers. This
funding comes from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Rural Fund, which
Senator Manchin fought to include to support rural healthcare providers and
suppliers. To date, West Virginia has received over $129 million from the ARPA
Rural Fund payments.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for West
Virginia’s healthcare professionals to be prepared for any emergency that tests
our state. Our healthcare providers have gone above and beyond to care for
their fellow West Virginians throughout the pandemic, and I’m pleased these
twelve providers are receiving support from the American Rescue Plan to
continue their critical work,” said Senator Manchin. “As a
member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for
funding to support our healthcare professionals as they care for our fellow
West Virginians across the Mountain State.”
