Manchin Announces Mingo County Small Businesses, Non-Profits Eligible for Disaster Relief Loans Following Severe Flooding
Charleston, WV – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced small
businesses and most private non-profits in Mingo County are eligible to apply
for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Economy Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
program following the recent severe storms and flooding. On Monday, August 1st,
2022, flash floods caused widespread damage to roads, bridges, homes and local
infrastructure throughout Mingo County.
“Gayle and I continue to pray for the families and communities
impacted by the severe flooding events in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia.
We are grateful to the first responders and volunteers working tirelessly to
help their communities during this difficult time. The SBA EIDL program
delivers critical relief to local organizations affected by disasters, and I’m
pleased Mingo County small businesses and non-profits are now eligible for this
crucial funding opportunity,” said Senator Manchin. “I encourage every
eligible organization to apply for these critical funds, and I will continue
working with national, state and local partners to support Mingo County’s
recovery.”
For small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small
businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations, the
SBA offers Economy Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working needs caused by
the disaster. EIDL program assistance is available regardless of whether
the business has suffered any physical property damage.
