MANCHIN ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $300K FOR WVU BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
Washington D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced $343,125 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for West Virginia University (WVU) in targeting SHP2 as a precision medicine for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer.
“The West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources estimates 300 women in West Virginia die from breast cancer every year. Continuing to invest in cancer research is the only way we will discover a cure,” Senator Manchin said. “I am proud of the work that students and researchers at WVU are doing to advance this cause and I am sure that this funding will lead us closer to that goal.”
