Manchin Announces Staff Will Host Events to Connect Veterans with VA Resources
Sept. 5 & 6: Manchin staff will host four public meetings across West Virginia with experts from the VA to help veterans get the services they need and deserve
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced today that his staff will host four public meetings across West Virginia next week to help veterans navigate the medical services, benefits and health counseling available to them. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance will deliver presentations and take questions from veterans in attendance.
Members of the public are strongly encouraged to attend the free sessions.
“As Governor, and now as a United States Senator, I am strongly committed to honoring our veterans and making sure that they have the best treatment and care in every way possible,” Senator Manchin said. “The people who sacrifice their lives for the freedoms we enjoy every day deserve the best education, housing, medical care and services our country has to offer. We should thank our servicemembers every day for their patriotism and sacrifice. To that end, my office has organized four open meetings next week to thank our veterans by giving West Virginia’s military men and women direct access to representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance. I encourage our veterans and their family members who have any questions to attend one of these events.”
