Manchin Announces Ticket Availability for West Virginians Interested in Watching Pope Address to Congress from Capitol Lawn in D.C.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced today that his office has received 200 tickets to watch Pope Francis’ Joint Address to Congress from the West Front Lawn of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. on September 24th. The Senator’s office is making those tickets available to West Virginians on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9 a.m. this Thursday, September 17th. Tickets are limited to four per household. Attendees will be able to watch the Pope’s speech on giant screens located on the Capitol building, after which the Pope is scheduled to appear on the Speaker’s Balcony and wave to the crowd. The ticket is good for admission only to the West Front Lawn and no other Capitol access.
To request a West Front Lawn ticket for the Pope’s Joint Address to Congress, West Virginians should fill out the online form on Senator Manchin’s website (www.manchin.senate.gov) with their information, and his office will be in contact regarding availability. West Virginians can also call the Senator’s Washington D.C. office directly at 202-224-3954, and their information will be taken over the phone. After the information is submitted, West Virginians will receive an email confirmation if they will receive ticket, and information regarding pick-up times and travel tips will be provided.
