Manchin Attends West Virginia High School Basketball State Tournament, Congratulates Student Athletes

Charleston, WV – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) attended the WVSSAC High School Basketball State Tournament on Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18. During his visits, Manchin gave a pregame speech in the Bluefield Beavers’ locker room and presented the Boys Class AA State Championship trophy to the Chapmanville Tigers. 

 

“It was great to be in Charleston this weekend to watch our student athletes compete in the state high school basketball tournament and congratulate the coaches and players who earned the privilege of playing for a state championship,” Senator Manchin said. “This event celebrates athletic achievements, promotes good sportsmanship, and creates lifelong memories for students throughout our state. I applaud our student athletes for their hard work both inside and outside the classroom. Congratulations on bringing pride to your schools and communities!”
