Manchin, Capito Announce $14.1 Million For Drinking Water, Wastewater Services In West Virginia Communities
Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $14,119,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to improve water service in West Virginia communities.
“All West Virginians should have clean, accessible drinking water and deserve dependable infrastructure, no matter where they live in the Mountain State. This USDA investment will help communities across our state expand and upgrade water and wastewater systems that serve thousands of residents. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding that helps our communities provide the services West Virginians need,” said Senator Manchin.
“USDA’s Rural Development initiatives play such an important role in rural states like West Virginia. It is crucial that we give our communities the resources they need to be successful and provide basic services for our residents. The Water Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program helps increase the reliability of water and wastewater infrastructure in West Virginia through our towns and public service districts. I am thankful for the continued investments by USDA in West Virginia and look forward to seeing the benefits of these projects,” said Senator Capito.
