Manchin, Capito Announce $2 Million For Head Start In Raleigh, Mineral Counties

Charleston, WV – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $2,036,966 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Head Start programs in Raleigh and Mineral counties.

“Head Start programs provide West Virginia children with a strong foundation for their education, no matter their circumstances. As a strong supporter of Head Start, I’m pleased to see this investment in Raleigh and Mineral county programs. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding that supports our Head Start programs here in West Virginia which help students access the quality education they deserve,” said Senator Manchin.

“Head Start programs have made a real difference for thousands of children throughout West Virginia,” said Senator Capito. “An investment into the children of our state is a direct investment into our future, and programs like this help build a fantastic educational foundation. As a Head Start champion, I will continue to advocate for funding and resources families rely on in West Virginia.”
