Manchin, Capito Announce $210K For Economic Development Across West Virginia
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), today announced $210,000 from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to be invested in Buckhannon, Parkersburg and Martinsburg through their regional planning and development councils. This investment will strengthen the regional economy by increasing the number of jobs and the support of capital investments among regions.
“Investing in regional economies is essential to creating good paying jobs, boosting economic development and improving the lives of all residents and businesses across West Virginia. I truly believe West Virginians are the most dedicated and hardworking individuals and through economic development that creates jobs, our citizens will be able to prove it. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for economic opportunities for West Virginia,” said Senator Manchin.
“Infrastructure improvements and other economic development projects help create opportunity in West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “Our state’s regional planning and development councils are crucial in steering these projects from beginning to end, and this funding supports their work to help communities make smart decisions about where to target resources. I’m glad to see this funding come to West Virginia, and I will continue to work with the dedicated staff at the regional councils to advance economic development across our state.”
