Manchin, Capito Announce $2.2 Million for Three West Virginia Healthcare Providers
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and
Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee,
announced $2,211,192 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support three West
Virginia healthcare providers. This funding from the Provider Relief Fund (PRF)
was included in the CARES Act and other bipartisan COVID-19
pandemic relief packages.
“Healthcare professionals across West Virginia continue to go
above and beyond to care for their fellow West Virginians. I’m pleased these
three providers are receiving support through the Provider Relief Fund to
continue their critical work to keep our communities safe and healthy,” said
Senator Manchin. “As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee,
I will continue advocating for resources to support our healthcare
professionals as they care for West Virginians across the Mountain State.”
“West Virginians rely on our local health care professionals for a
variety of services, particularly in our rural communities. Our health care
facilities stepped up in a big way during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their
courageous service undoubtedly saved lives. That is why it is crucial that we
provide the support they need to be prepared and operate efficiently and
effectively,” Senator Capito said. “I will continue to advocate for our
local health care facilities and professionals across the state of West
Virginia.”
