Manchin, Capito Announce $781K To Support The Arts Across West Virginia

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Appropriations Committee, today announced $781,100 for West Virginia through the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding will support arts and music programs across the state and assist the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History with its statewide activities.

“The arts are essential to West Virginia; they play a major role in our communities and how we tell our stories. It is great to see West Virginia receive funding to improve our arts programs so that more students and artists can follow their passions and we get the opportunity to appreciate the art they create. I applaud the National Endowment for the Arts for their efforts to strengthen our arts programs everywhere from Weirton to Lewisburg. This funding will make such an impact for West Virginians around our state and I look forward to seeing these investments come to fruition,” said Senator Manchin.

“West Virginia has a rich cultural history filled with food, music, and kinds of beautiful works of art,” Senator Capito said. “As our parents and grandparents did for us, it is critical that we preserve our heritage and pass it along to the next generation. This funding will help the dedicated artists, professionals, and volunteers who make West Virginia a unique and wonderful place to call home.”
