Manchin, Capito Announce Assistance to Firefighters Grant to Ranson Independent Fire Co. No. 1

Charleston, WV – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced $8,904.38 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security‘s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Independent Fire Co. No. 1 in Ranson, West Virginia. This funding was made available through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.

 

“The brave men and women of the Ranson Independent Fire Co. No 1 risk their lives to keep their community safe from harm and we must ensure they have the necessary equipment and resources to be as protected as possible on the job,” said Senator Manchin. “I am pleased FEMA is supporting the Ranson firefighters and as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding that helps keep West Virginians safe.”
