Manchin, Capito Announce More Than $10 Million For Head Start Programs In West Virginia
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $10,831,547 from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Head Start Programs across West Virginia.
“As a long-time supporter of the great Head Start programs across West Virginia, I am always pleased to see our programs receive support from HHS. Everyone deserves access to a quality education, and this funding will help Head Start programs across the state provide our children with a strong foundation for their education, no matter their circumstances. I will keep fighting for funding that supports education programs in West Virginia so they can provide our children and students with the opportunities they deserve,” Senator Manchin said.
“Giving our young children the educational foundation they need to be successful is so important, which is why I am proud to be a long-time supporter of Head Start’s initiatives” said Senator Capito. “Head Start programs are essential in not just preparing our children for success, but also in helping to provide them with the tools needed to tackle challenges head on. I will continue to advocate for our West Virginia Head Start programs and for additional educational resources for West Virginia.”
