Manchin, Capito Announce More Than $1.4 Million For West Virginia Healthcare Providers

Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,462,713 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support 13 West Virginia healthcare providers. This funding from the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) was included in the CARES Act and other bipartisan COVID-19 relief packages.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for West Virginia’s hospitals and healthcare workers to be prepared for any emergency that tests our state. Our healthcare providers have gone above and beyond to care for their fellow West Virginias throughout the crisis, all while operating on shoestring budgets, which is why I’m pleased our hospitals and healthcare providers are receiving support through the Provider Relief Fund,” said Senator Manchin. “As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for funding to support our healthcare professionals as they care for West Virginians across the Mountain State during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.”

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical professionals in our hospitals and local health centers have been working hard to provide critical services that West Virginians rely on each and every day. I am happy to support this funding for our providers who experienced lost revenues and increased expenses during the pandemic,” Senator Capito said. “I will continue to support our health care workforce so we can maintain access to health services for people across West Virginia.”
