Manchin, Capito Announce More Than $2.6 Million for Page-Kincaid Service District's Water Service
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Appropriations Committee, today announced a $2,150,000 loan and a $535,000 grant for the Page-Kincaid Public Service District through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program. Funding will go to replace the plant’s aging mechanical equipment and upgrade the electrical system. The West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council (IJDC) is providing an additional $500,000 for the project.
“Clean drinking water is an important part of advancing our rural communities and ensuring every West Virginian has access to this is one of my top priorities,” said Senator Manchin. “This is great news for Fayette County and the entire region. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee I will continue advocating for these resources.”
“The Page-Kincaid project is the perfect example of how federal and state governments should work together,” Senator Capito said. “Investing in this infrastructure is absolutely critical to ensure residents and businesses in the Fayette County area have clean, running water services. I’m proud USDA and the West Virginia IJDC recognized this need and acted together to help the Service District better deliver for West Virginians.”
