Manchin, Capito Announce Public Housing Support
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $60,303 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Moderate Rehabilitation Program. This program received additional funding from the CARES Act.
“There is not a community in West Virginia that has not been touched by the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic impacts have caused increased housing insecurity for many West Virginia families. This funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development will provide the support these families need to help them get back on their feet during this ongoing pandemic,” Senator Manchin said.
“In times as uncertain and unprecedented as this, we must provide additional resources to help West Virginians who have fallen on hard times. Our public housing sector must be equipped to handle the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through my role on the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for West Virginians facing housing insecurity,” said Senator Capito.
