Manchin, Capito Announce USDA Funding For Rural Development
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced two grants to support rural development in West Virginia. One grant will support Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College, while the other will be used for the implementation of an ATV trail on the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System. Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
“West Virginians are some of the hardest working people around, especially those in rural communities across our state. With these investments, West Virginians will have the opportunity to show that and this funding will also help create new jobs and better prepare West Virginians to get back to work. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to bring opportunities to our communities to improve the lives of all West Virginians,” said Senator Manchin.
“It’s always rewarding when funding comes together for worthwhile projects in West Virginia, and that’s especially true for these grants, which will bolster development in our rural counties,” Senator Capito said. “I’m pleased that efforts to expand the Hatfield-McCoy Trails system and support Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College will have the benefit of federal investments, and I look forward to the positive impacts in store for these deserving communities.”
