Manchin, Capito Congratulate The 2021 West Virginia Presidential Scholars
Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), today congratulated West Virginia students Kendra Goeddert from Greenbrier East High School, Nicholas Murphy from Parkersburg South High School and Zara Zervos from John Marshall High School for being selected as U.S Presidential Scholars. The Presidential Scholars Program honors graduating high school seniors for their academic achievement, accomplishments in the arts and technology fields, leadership, service and contribution to their community.
“The Presidential Scholars Program is an incredible recognition for high school seniors, and Kendra, Nicholas, and Zara each have proven themselves to be great representatives of the Mountain State. Congratulations to Kendra, Nicholas and Zara for being selected as Presidential Scholars and for their remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements. These students have earned this prestigious award through their dedication and hard work in their academics and their communities” said Senator Manchin. “Young people like Kendra, Nicholas and Zara are the future of West Virginia and set a wonderful example for each and every one of us.”
