Manchin Congratulates W.Va’s Stephanie Thacker on Advancing Toward Senate Confirmation

Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) congratulated West Virginia’s Stephanie Thacker today after her nomination to the federal bench received unanimous support from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Thacker has been nominated to be a federal judge for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

“I am so pleased that the Senate Judiciary Committee recognized that Stephanie Thacker would serve the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals well and gave her nomination a unanimous vote today. The support she received is well-deserved,” Senator Manchin said. “If she is confirmed by the full Senate, I know that her service to the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals will be extraordinary. She has wide-ranging experience in civil and criminal matters, and a strong track record that has prepared her well for this position. Stephanie Thacker’s impressive background and extensive accomplishments in the public and private sectors will make her an exceptional judge. I am proud to call her a fellow West Virginian, and I urge my Senate colleagues to confirm her quickly.”
