Manchin Introduces Bipartisan National Women in Agriculture Day Resolution
Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin
(D-WV) introduced a bipartisan resolution to designate March 23rd,
2023 as National Women in Agriculture Day to recognize the critical
contributions of West Virginian and American women in the agriculture industry.
“West
Virginia’s farmers, ranchers and livestock producers play a critical role in
our state’s economy and provide nutritious food for their communities, and women
have always had an essential role in the industry,” said Senator Manchin. “More and more women across our great state are
entering the agriculture field, and I join all West Virginians in thanking them
for their vital efforts. I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan resolution to recognize
and celebrate the women in West Virginia and across the country who are
critical to supporting agriculture businesses, operations and education.”
Senator Manchin was joined by Senators Joni
Ernst (R-IA), Tina Smith (D-MN) and 56 additional bipartisan Senators.
