Manchin Officially Welcomes Shelley Moore Capito to US Senate

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today issued the following statement on welcoming newly-elected Shelley Moore Capito to the United States Senate:

Shelley has been a dedicated public servant of our beautiful state for more than 14 years and has achieved countless accomplishments in her own right, most recently making history as West Virginia’s first woman United States senator. Shelley and I both strongly believe that putting West Virginia values before partisanship and politics is the best way to represent the people of the Mountain State. And together, I have no doubt that we will be able to help break Washington’s infamous gridlock by working on commonsense legislation as we start tackling some of West Virginia’s and America’s greatest challenges in the 114th Congress.”
