Manchin Reiterates Support For Israel Following Iran’s Missile Attack
Charleston, WV – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on Iran’s missile attack on Israel today.
“Nearly a year ago, Iran’s proxy, Hamas, and soon after Hezbollah, launched a cowardly attack against innocent Israeli citizens. The attack was designed to disrupt the ongoing treaty discussions between the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia. This peaceful coalition of nations and the opportunities that it would bring Palestinians is a direct threat to Iran.
“Since that horrific day, Iran and its proxies have continued their relentless attacks on Israel, and the United States must remain steadfast in its support of Israel’s absolute right to defend itself. Further escalation of this conflict rests on the shoulders of Iran and the terrorist organizations they have emboldened and resourced for years. I will continue to monitor this situation closely and pray that cooler heads prevail.”
