Manchin Speaks At 4th Annual Gamechanger Prevention Dinner
Washington, DC – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) spoke at the 4th annual GameChanger Prevention Education Dinner at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. GameChanger is a substance use prevention movement connecting West Virginia students and educators with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation to build safe school environments free from drug use. Senator Manchin was joined by actress and philanthropist Jennifer Garner and several West Virginia public officials.
“It’s truly an honor to be here with you all today,” Senator Manchin said in part. “Everyone in this room understands the havoc the drug epidemic has wreaked on every community in West Virginia. We cannot allow this to continue. We have a responsibility, especially to our children, to put an end to it.”
“It has been my top priority to create and pass commonsense legislation that fights the drug epidemic on all fronts. The bottom line is that no single agency or organization can succeed in defeating this problem on their own – it will take an all-hands-on-deck approach. I’m confident that we have the right people in this room today to make long-lasting, meaningful differences in this crisis,” Senator Manchin continued. “To the entire GameChanger team – thank you for your tireless efforts protecting our youth and please keep up the great work.”
