Manchin Speaks With First Lady Melania Trump On Combating The Opioid Crisis
Washington D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) today participated in a roundtable discussion with First Lady Melania Trump about the opioid epidemic.
“Today’s bipartisan discussion with the First Lady about the opioid crisis that is ravaging our country was positive and productive. We celebrated the first anniversary of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act being signed into law, which includes resources for states like West Virginia that are on the frontlines of the opioid epidemic; we also discussed possible programs to address the opioid crisis. I believe that in order to effectively combat the opioid epidemic, we must all work together in a bipartisan way. I look forward to continuing my work with the Administration to make meaningful steps towards healing and recovering our communities across the nation and in West Virginia,” said Senator Manchin.
