Manchin Speaks With Navy Secretary; Applauds New Northrop Grumman Contract In West Virginia

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) spoke today with the Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer to discuss the new contract Northrop Grumman contract in West Virginia.

“Today I met with Secretary of the Navy Richard Spencer, and was so pleased to discuss the new contract that our West Virginia workers earned at the Northrop Grumman facility at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Mineral County. The Navy recently awarded Northrop Grumman the contract for the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile Extended Range, which is a missile that will keep our nation the strongest in the world. A portion of the work on this missile will be done right here in West Virginia. This new Navy contract, along with the new and now operational $50 million Large Tactical Motor Manufacturing Facility, where I was proud to participate in the ground breaking in 2016, will bring a significant number of new, good-paying jobs to West Virginia.

“I am proud of our West Virginia workforce, and these new jobs prove that West Virginians are the hardest working in the nation.   Northrop Grumman will be participating in our statewide job fair on March 22nd in Charleston, and I look forward to helping this firm find a quality work force for these good jobs.”
