Manchin Statement On Certification Of 2020 Presidential Election Results

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) released the following statement on the Congressional certification of the 2020 Presidential election results. 

“Today was a difficult and dark day in our nation’s history. But let’s be clear - our democracy prevailed. Late tonight, Congress will certify the results of the 2020 presidential election just as the U.S. Constitution empowers us to do. In just 14 days, there will be a peaceful transition of power. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were legitimately elected and are our next President and Vice President. It is time to come together and begin to move forward as one nation. God bless the United States of America.”
