Manchin Statement On Death Of Miner Ashley Cogar

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) released the following statement on the death of coal miner Ashley Cogar, who was fatally injured at the Pocahontas Coal Company in Raleigh County.

“Gayle and I are devastated to hear of the passing of Ashley Cogar. We ask all West Virginians to join us in keeping her family, friends and loved ones in your prayers during this enormously difficult time. West Virginians and Americans are beyond grateful for the brave miners, like Ashley, who put their lives at risk each day to power our nation. Ashley’s valor and sacrifices will never be forgotten. Gayle and I send our deepest condolences to Ashley’s mother, Patricia, her three children, and all of her loved ones as they mourn this incredible loss.”
