Manchin Statement on Death of Miner Jeffrey A. Phillips

Washington, DC – This evening, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) released the following statement on the death of miner, Jeffrey A. Phillips, at the Ohio County Coal Company’s Ohio County Mine located in Marshall County.  

“Gayle and I are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Jeffrey A. Phillips at the Ohio County Mine. His family, friends and loved ones are in our prayers and we ask all West Virginians to join us during this difficult time. We are forever grateful our miners put their lives on the line every day to power our great nation. Jeffrey served our state and our country during his time in the mines, and his sacrifices will never be forgotten. Gayle and I, along with all West Virginians, send our sympathies and prayers to Jeffrey’s family and loved ones as they mourn this incredible loss.”
