Manchin Statement On Opposition To Senate Resolutions Blocking Weapons Sales To Israel
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV), member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after voting against the joint resolutions of disapproval on the Senate floor that would block the sale of certain U.S.-made weapons to Israel.
“I voted against these resolutions to reaffirm my enduring commitment to Israel in their fight against terrorism. With American military aid, we are investing in the long-term success of Israel and our shared values of freedom, liberty, and democracy. Our ally needs and deserves our steadfast support as they continue to fight on the front lines against an emboldened Iran and its proxies. I will continue to stand with Israel and support their sovereignty and right to defend itself.”
